Case Studies
Hard problems, solved in hardware.
For more than 35 years, our team has taken difficult measurement, sensing and control problems from concept to working systems. Here is some of that work.
Precision Thermal Control: ThermoCore F500
Industry: Metrology and calibration
The challenge
Calibration labs need reference baths that hold temperature almost perfectly still, for long periods. Small drifts become measurement errors further down the line.
What we built
ThermoCore F500 is a precision thermal fluid bath that uses adaptive cascade PID control and integrated multi-stage cooling. We designed the control electronics, the firmware and the operator interface in-house. Its companion, AeroStasis A300, is a programmable air bath for high-stability calibration.
The result
±0.0002 °C temperature stability
Patented design

Modernizing a 30-Year-Old Standard: SalinoCoreS700
Industry: Oceanography and metrology
The challenge
High-precision salinometers are the industry standard for measuring seawater salinity. The core architecture of the instruments most labs use has not changed meaningfully in about 30 years.
What we built
SalinoCoreS700 is a high-precision salinometer built on a modern architecture: new measurement electronics, embedded firmware, data acquisition and a modern user interface.
The result
A modern architecture for an instrument class that had seen no major update in decades
Fully digital AI enabled data recorded
Scientific GUI and ananlytic data set
Contactless Passenger Verification: Biometrics Kiosk
Industry: Aviation and security
The challenge
Airport gates need to verify passengers quickly and securely without slowing down boarding.
What we built
We built an airport gate kiosk that verifies passengers by facial recognition, covering the hardware, embedded control, camera integration and the touch-screen interface.
The result
Faster, more secure, contactless check-in and boarding
AI enabled structure
Heartbeat as a Password: ECG Bio-Authentication
Industry: Biomedical and security
The challenge
Fingerprints and passwords can be copied. A person’s heart signal is much harder to fake.
What we built
This patented biometric system streams heart-rate (ECG and PPG) and fingerprint samples to a local processor or server for authentication. Its processing model was trained with the MATLAB Deep Learning Toolbox, and the platform also supports ECG-on-demand applications.
The result
Patented multi-signal authentication
Flexible data protocol that adapts to the application
AI enabled structure
Seeing the Hazard First: HCAS (Human Collision Avoidance System)
Industry: Micromobility, industrial safety and insurance
The challenge
E-scooter and e-bike riders share roads with much larger vehicles and often get no warning before a collision. After an incident, there is rarely reliable data on what happened.
What we built
HCAS is an embedded safety platform that combines LiDAR, computer vision, IMU and proximity sensing. Its hybrid architecture pairs Jetson-class edge AI with dedicated microcontroller subsystems. It warns riders with visual, audio and haptic alerts, and logs time-stamped, location-aware events with sensor data and confidence scores.
The result
Patent pending
Integrated prototype now in real-world validation
Event data built for fleet analytics, insurance risk assessment and claim validation
We’re looking for pilot partners: fleet operators, OEMs and insurers. [Link to HCAS page]
Analytical and Safety Instrumentation
Industry: Life sciences and security screening
Our engineers have designed electronics and firmware for mass spectrometry, explosive detection and UVC sterilization systems. These are applications where signal integrity, timing and reliability can’t be compromised.
